Event Details

Join them in the Central Library’s 3rd floor Community Meeting Room for a screening of three short documentaries exploring different aspects of transgender life.

  • They/Them (dir. Vanessa Walker) follows Taylor ‘T.B.’ Harmon through the waiting involved with transition-related medical procedures. For Taylor in particular, it’s about waiting for health insurance to finally kick in.
  • Before Dawn, After Don (dir. Deana Mitchell) follows Dawn Ennis. Having gone through more transitions than most people face in a lifetime, Dawn encounters the most challenging change yet: becoming a single parent.
  • Escaping Agra (dir. Pallavi Somusetty) follows Naveen Bhat. Trapped in India after their parents find out about their gender and sexual orientation, this film follows Naveen’s journey to battle their parents in court and piece their life back together.

There will be a brief discussion with directors of all three films after the screening.
