Swig / Swap: Free Bubbly and Book Exchange (Oakland)

Our book swap series is back at Town Bar & Lounge — and every other month after that.

The Swig: Come and get a drink token for a free glass of bubbly from the bar. (Refills or other drinks are on you, though).

The Swap: Bring a book that has meaning to you, gave you joy & escape, changed your mind, or offered knowledge about the world. If not something off your shelf, buy a new copy at a local bookstore. Leave it on the table as a gift to community; browse the table and take a book left by someone else.

That’s it. Easy. Simple. Enjoy the vibes at Town, and practice community care.

Do us a favor? Please don’t bring books to “clear out” your shelves or that you don’t care for. That’s like bringing a dusty can of creamed corn to a food drive. We’re trying to put knowledge and culture into community circulation, not be your recycling center.
