Join San Francisco Theater Pub for a one night performance of ‘Ubu Roi’ – Afred Jarry’s bawdy and nihilistic reboot of Macbeth newly translated by Theater Pub co-founder Bennett Fisher. Considered one of the first pieces of modern theater, ‘Ubu Roi’ incited riots in Paris when it was first performed in 1896. Over a century later, the play has lost none of its satirical bite.
‘Ubu Roi’ will be performed concert style in the Cafe Royale Bar. We advise patrons to arrive early and grab a beer. Feel free to hang out in the bar with the cast after the show.
Please note: Details on ‘Ubu Roi’ not yet posted at http://sftheaterpub.wordpress.com
