Thousands of twinkling white lights illuminating Union Street’s Victorian houses set the scene for the annual Fantasy of Lights Celebration. Union Street will transform into a magical backdrop where children can meet Santa and the Snow Queen, decorate cupcakes, donate toys, and see live ponies dressed up like reindeer.
Face painters, balloon artists, costumed characters and live entertainment on every block introduce the season on Union and Fillmore Street.
Festival of Lights Schedule:
• Free Cupcake Decorating: 3pm – 5pm at the Metro Theater (2055 Union St.)
• Meet the Snow Queen: 5:15pm at The Enchanted Crystal (1895 Union Street)
The Snow Queen will lead a procession to the Metro Theater bringing toys to Santa Claus who will donate them to the SF Firefighters’ Toy program.
• Pictures with Santa: 5:30pm – 7pm in front of the Metro Theater (2055 Union St.)
• Donate Toys for Needy Children: SF Firefighters’ Toy Program collection barrels
