Event Details

If your child’s ever said, “When I grow up, I want to be a veterinarian,” then you gotta take them here. Bonafide veterinarian Dr. Curtis Press of nearby Mission Pet Hospital is bringing live animals for a little look into his daily work. In the back room of the awesome kid’s store, kids will be able to listen to heart beats, discover what makes the critters tick, and explore the other things that vets do. Then start saving up for med school.

Paxton Gate’s Curiosities For Kids is putting on a slew of offbeat and educational events this summer, partly as a Grand Re-Opening since the end of the roadwork that tore up Valencia Street. In that spirit, the kid’s store is teaming up with neighboring businesses (Like the Mission Pet Hospital at 720 Valencia St.) to give it a local flair. Also, on Wednesday all plush toys will be 15% off.
