The United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 14 in San Rafael is offering our new Boater Safety class, open to the public of all ages, all over the entire state of California. The class is virtual, and it runs Monday, May 3rd through Thursday, May 6th, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. each night, and it costs $35. The benefit to boaters of taking this class is that it meets the requirements to receive the California Boating Card, which is now necessary to operate any “on the water vehicle” from a paddleboard to a kayak to a sailboat to a yacht to a motorboat to a ship. People who successfully complete the class will receive the California Boater card.
