The Oakland Museum of California (OMCA) is continuing its popular weekly community event–now Virtual Friday Nights at OMCA during the Museum’s closure–with a powerful program in commemoration of Juneteenth 2020.
The online program brings together a cross-section of Oakland artists, educators, and activists to honor efforts made in the ongoing struggle for the liberation of Black people everywhere. A schedule and list of participating artists are included below.
OMCA presents this program with humility and gratitude in hopes that this offering will be a source of inspiration and joy as people continue to demand respect and dignity for all Black Lives. The program will air on OMCA’s YouTube channel.
OMCA staff have also compiled a list of resources and suggested organizations to support, shared on the Museum’s website: museumca.org/resources-support-black-lives
