San Francisco Taiko Dojo, the internationally recognized Taiko drumming group and school, presents its annual Taiko Festival at Zellerbach Hall in Berkeley. The festival will feature Japan’s own Hiroyuki Hayashida, who is a pioneer of katsugi oke daiko, a unique shouldering taiko.
The program’s finale will honor Northern Japan’s taiko community, and all of those who were devastated by Japan’s quake and tsunami. A portion of the ticket proceeds will go to hard-hit taiko groups from the region.
