Event Details

Chock full of strange and wonderful compounds, tea is a royal beverage with a tale to tell. Venture through Chinatown and beyond to get a lesson in the proper way to brew a cup, do some study of diffusion and oxidation, and dissect the differences between green, black and oolong. You’ll wrap up by meeting a Certified Tea Specialist for teatime treats and a lesson in the fine art of cupping.

  • The tour is 2.5 miles through downtown San Francisco and involves moderate uphills and downhills.
  • Winners receive starting location deets (in Chinatown) and other logistics when they’re notified of their tickets.

The Science of Tea Walking Tour is offered by Discovery Street Tours who have several different unique walking tours exploring the science of everyday life, in your food, on the street, and inside you.
