2018 Yom Kippur: “Fast & Forgive”

The goal is to make thoughtful resolutions that lead us to be better people in the year ahead. The mood on Yom Kippur is contemplative, and the feeling at the end of the day is one of catharsis – relief that brings joy.

Traditionally, this deep reflection has been invoked through prayer and by abstaining from eating, drinking, bathing, anointing oil (cosmetics), sexual intimacy and wearing shoes made of leather.

This year we observe Yom Kippur from sunset on September 18 to nightfall on September 19, 2018. The JCCSF is closed on September 19.
