The Bay Area Classic is second only to the U.S. National Yo-Yo Contest in terms of prestige and competition, though some players actually focus as much emphasis on winning the BAC as Nationals or even the World Yo-Yo Contest.
California has produced some of the greatest modern yo-yo players in the world, and the BAC is the one contest each year they are all guaranteed to attend.
Kick it in Japantown Peace Plaza in San Francisco on Sunday, May 25, 2014 to watch, meet and learn from some of the Bay Area’s top yo-yo tricksters.
In past years, the gathering has begun around 1 pm. This is an informal event, so there’s no competition, but when you put a bunch of yo-yo experts together in one place, you’re bound to see trick swapping.
BYOB and BYOYOYO – though there are usually some loaners to spare, if you want to give some tricks a try.
Please Note: Typically Sunday Funday is held in Dolores Park, but in 2014 the park is under construction, so there won’t be a free BBQ in the park.
