Free & Cheap NYE Public Transportation: Muni/SamTrans/Caltrain/VTA

Get hammered on New Years Eve but still get home safe and for free if you live anywhere other than the East Bay!

• SF Muni: Free rides on all Muni lines & routes (including cable cars) from 8pm NYE until 6am New Years Day. - please note that the SF Muni website does not have details of the free NYE rides updated yet, but we called and confirmed it with their PR department.
• SamTrans: Free rides on fixed routes after 11pm until 2am.
• CalTrain: Free rides after 11pm. Four extra trains depart San Francisco southbound – 12:45am, 1:15am, 1:45am, and 2:15am making all local weekday stops to the San Jose Diridon Station
• VTA: Free bus and light rail service from 7pm to 3:59am.

- BART, AC Transit and Golden Gate Transit offer no special fares for New Years Eve.
