Asian Art Museum’s $10 Thursday Nights (SF)
Looking for a great date night on the cheap? The Asian Art Museum is open until 8 pm on Thursdays and general admission is just $10 (that’s half-off). Plus Special exhibitions are now included with general admission tickets!
You can spend an evening in their beautiful building enjoying the galleries, fun talks, lively gatherings and intimate hangs with artists.
Except for certain special events, general admission tickets are $10 for adults, $8.50 for seniors, $7 for students and youths (age 13-17).
Utilizing the Asian Art Museum as a nexus where past and future, East and West, and institutions and individuals all meet, presents Gathering Among Stars.
Li’s “living sculpture” will draw inspiration from the centuries old Lantern Festival in China, where crowds gather to light and watch lanterns, marking the “release” of one’s old self in order to begin anew. Inviting audience members to participate in a similar transformation, the artist will lead the group in the construction of a site-specific, nomadic installation.
