Burger Boogaloo Pre-Party: Indie Rock & DJ Showcase | Oaklandish

On Friday, July 3, 2015, Burger Records is throwing a pre-party for their annual Burger Boogaloo music festival with a free concert featuring Pookie & The Poodlez and Yea-Ming & The Rumours at Oaklandish in downtown Oakland.

Burger Boogaloo Pre-Party Lineup:

• Pookie & The Poodlez
  The Poodlez brand of bubblegum scum has taken them across the U.S. with a full length LP and a couple of EPs. They play with the Muffs and Courtney & The Crushers at Brick & Mortar in SF on 7/18.
• Yea-Ming & The Rumours
  Yea-Ming and the Rumours rose from the ashes of Bay Area’s pop darlings Dreamdate, containing those three members and adding Eoin Galvin on slide guitar to round out the lineup. Namesake Yea-Ming Chen expands on the pop confection she co-pioneered in Dreamdate, now with an emphasis on her Nico-esque voice and interesting melodies. Anna Hillburg plays jaunting country bass lines in groove with Sonia Hayden’s solid and spirited drumming to lay down the backbone for these uniquely catchy tunes. With a forthcoming album due out this year, the Rumours are not to be missed

Burger Boogaloo takes place on July 4-5, 2015 at Oakland’s Mosswood Park and it’s hosted by the amazing John Waters. Tickets are $39 for each day, or $69 for the weekend.
