National Park Service’s 100 Year Celebration: S’mores & Storytelling | Presidio

Bring the family out to The Presidio to sing “Happy Birthday” to a friend that is celebrating a special birthday – the National Park Service.

“America’s Best Idea“ is turning 100 on August 25, and the Presidio – part of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area – is hosting a special bash at Presidio Twilight to mark the moment.

Please note this event takes place in The Presidio, although some maps may incorrectly show 103 Montgomery as being in downtown.

In addition to the cabanas, music, and delicious food trucks normally offered at this outdoor gathering, enjoy the following special birthday activities:

• Storytelling – Experience family storytelling around the campfire with park rangers
• Treats – Enjoy free hot chocolate and s’mores or a discounted celebratory cocktail
• Mementos – Take a family photo in front of your favorite destinations in the Golden Gate National Recreation Area at the “green screen” photo booth
• Junior Rangers – Bring the kids to earn their limited edition Junior Ranger Centennial badge
• Adventure – Drop in to the “Roving Ranger” truck for your special edition Centennial temporary “flash tat” and to pick up information about fun fall activities in the Presidio and other local national park sites.

Please Note: To protect the park and our environment, please refrain from placing stakes in the lawn and bringing helium balloons to this event.
