Celebrate the 75th b-day of the bridge with a free nighttime bash at the de Young Museum | Friday

Golden Gate Bridge BashFriday Nights at the de Young offers a variety of interdisciplinary arts programs, including live music, poetry, films, dance, tours, talks and more. Season Eight is every Friday night from March 30 – November 23, 2012.

This free weekly after-hours art “happening” changes every week, but typically includes a mix of live music, dance performances, film screenings, panel discussions, lectures, artist demonstrations, special performances, hands-on art activities and more. Plus the observation tower is open until 8:15pm.

  • 6pm – Free Swing Dance Lessons
    Kick off this fabulous Golden Gate birthday party with dance hostess Cynthia Glinka and her easy-as-pie dance lessons.
  • 6:30-8:30pm – Live 1930s Jazz
    Live music of the era performed by The Royal Society Jazz Orchestra
  • 7pm – Golden Gate Bridge History Lecture
    75 Years Old! The Golden Gate Bridge and the Extraordinary City it Enhances - Lecture by Kay Payne, FAMSF docent
