Huge Anti-Trump Ocean Beach Protest

A huge peaceful rally on the beach to form giant letters “RESIST”
By - posted 2/7/2017 No Comment

This is a peaceful, family-friendly rally open to all (including well-behaved dogs) who would like to see Trump and his band of billionaires ushered out of the White House immediately.

Thanks to SF Station for the tip off about this event.

We will be spelling out with our bodies an enormous message communicating that Trump simply has to go — now! A photographer and videographer will record the message from high above (the results may look similar to the above event, which took place during the Bush-Cheney administration) and photos and video should be in worldwide circulation by mid-afternoon.

Ocean Beach Trump Protest

Ocean Beach just south of Cliff House btwn stairwells #1 and #4, SF

IMPORTANT – Details can change, the location is in flux, it might rain (so the helicopter can’t fly)… check Facebook for updates before heading out.

TIME: Please arrive by 10:30. “RESIST!” will have already been etched into the sand. The helicopter arrives overhead at noon sharp. When the onboard camera crew signals its satisfaction, we will all proceed safely to the waterline and form a chain stretching down the beach, holding hands (also filmed from above). Event should end by 12:30.

LOCATION: Directly south of the Cliff House (1090 Pt Lobos Av, SF, 94121), between Stairwells #1 and #4.

GETTING THERE: If possible please arrive via public transportation or carpool. Ocean Beach is serviced by Muni buses and trains from all over the City, including from all BART stations. The Fulton Street and Geary Avenue buses drop you ten-minutes walk from the event site. The N-Judah trolley line drop you a mile away, a gorgeous 20-minute walk. Given the large number of signups, parking at the beach may be difficult. The western end of Golden Gate Park is also a good parking possibility. My favorite option (after 28 years as a San Francisco cab driver) is a good old-fashioned taxicab.

TRASH: We have always left the beach cleaner than we found it. The Park Service asks that we do so again,, and I have promised that we will. Please take your trash with you, or drop it in a trash can, or in the black plastic garbage bags that will be at every letter. Thank you.
