Creating Commons Festival is an annual, multi-generational family friendly gathering in North Oakland celebrating and recreating common spaces with educational skillshares, garden installations, public art, local art, music and placemaking projects in the neighborhood.

64th Street up to Marshall Street, Oakland

2016 activities include:

  • Projects: Garden installations, placemaking projects, permaculture blitz, other activities
  • Skill Shares: 30 min – 1 hour sessions (sustainability, urban ag, homesteading, resiliency, etc)
  • Kid Zone: Games: conscious carnival games, face painting, art making, and more
  • Interactive: street art, peace flag making & more
  • Healing Tent: Practitioners, massage, accupuncture, accupressure, & other modalities
  • Sacred Space: Talking circles and sacred sharing
  • Food Vendor Zone: Community Potluck and BBQ
