Free Seasonal Cooking Demo & Tasting | Ferry Plaza Farmers Market
This waterfront market, run by the Center for Urban Education about Sustainable Agriculture (CUESA), has over 100 food, fruit, and vegetable vendors on Saturdays and the entire Bay as its beautiful backdrop.
The Ferry Plaza Farmers Market operates year-round from 8 am to 2 pm.
On most Saturdays, free cooking demos take place in the CUESA Classroom (under the white tents in front of the Ferry Building) and are free to the public, with recipes and samples for all.

At Sauce they serve what they call “Social Cuisine” – American comfort fare so good you’ll want everyone at the table to try a bite. It’s shared food without the tiny plates. It’s what happens when Comfort Food meets California Cuisine.
Growing up, Chef Ben Paula fell in love with the kitchen by cooking with his dad in their family home in Massachusetts. Ben started working in restaurant kitchens while he was still in college. He liked the challenge and the satisfaction of creating the dishes, and knew eventually he wanted to open his own restaurant. He has gone from assisting world-renowned “Fear No Ice” ice-carving performers in Vail, Colorado to Banquet Chef for the St. Regis Hotel in Los Angeles to Executive Sous Chef at the Universal Sheraton before moving to San Francisco in 2003. After serving as Chef and GM for Charlie’s on Union, Ben teamed up with the Hosley brothers and became Executive Chef of Sauce, overseeing both locations.
