The outdoor Fiestas Patrias “El Grito” Festival brings families and friends together to enjoy a fun-filled day in San Jose celebrating Mexican Independence Day from 12:30-10 pm on Saturday, September 16, 2017. 

The Festival features live music and entertainmentmulti-cultural food vendors, as well as cultural, local community service and business vendors during the day.

Fiestas Patrias 2017 is the largest and most prestigious Mexican Independence Day celebration in the Bay Area. This year’s expected attendance is more than 35,000.

The Mexican Independence is celebrated annually to remember the bravery of Miguel Hidalgo. To this day, the church bell that was used 203 years ago hangs in the National Palace in Mexico City and is rung at mid-night of 15th September each year by the President of Mexico.
