52nd Annual Castro Street Fair
Sunday, October 4, 2026 | 11am-6pm
Castro & Market Street, San Francisco
Free but suggested donation: $10 to $20

The Castro Street Fair is a community street celebration that was founded by Harvey Milk in 1974. As the owner of Castro Camera at 575 Castro Street, Harvey was faced with many hostilities and challenges as a gay business owner. In 1974, Harvey began the Castro Street Fair to promote gay-owned businesses and celebrate the vitality of the Castro neighborhood.

Each year, we continue his legacy on the 1st weekend in October, by gathering in the heart of the Castro at the intersection of Market & Castro Streets and the surrounding area to celebrate our diversity and support our community. Hundreds of local artists, vendors, craftspeople, and organizations line the streets and celebrate the diversity of the neighborhood. Stages with live entertainment, DJs and dance areas can be found throughout the fairgrounds.

The Fair is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization and all proceeds go directly to charitable causes important to the Castro community. Additionally, the Fair funds the rainbow flag that flies over the intersection of Castro and Market. Since 1998, the Castro Street Fair is proud to have given over $1.6 million back to the community beneficiaries. This is only made possible through your generous donations. Make your entry gate donation here before the Fair.

What Streets are closed for the Fair?
Generally the following streets are closed for the Fair:
