Westland Distillery and Charlito’s Cocina will both be at the Bernal Heights store offering samples and sharing wisdom about their respective trades.
Westland Distillery focus on American Single Malt whiskies, distilled from malted barley; the most complex and flavorful grain used to make whiskey. For centuries, single malt whiskies have been considered solely the domain of Scotland. But a new category of single malt is taking root. In the heart of the Pacific Northwest, Westland are graced with world-class natural ingredients. Those ingredients inspire them to pursue their own unique American-style single malt to rival the finest whiskies in the world.
Charlito’s was founded in 2011 in New York with with aim to explore and utilize the rich gastronomic traditions used to preserve food prior to the days of refrigeration and freezers. They derive their influence primarily from the curing traditions of Spain, while striving, one product at a time, to distinguish a style that is uniquely their own. All the meat they use is 100% pasture raised, heritage breed pork. The salt we use is all hand harvested fleur de sel.
