Friday Night Soirées with the Alliance Française presents music by Baguette Quartet, playing music that was heard from the 1920s to the 1940s on Paris street corners, in cafés, and in dance halls. Odile Lavault, accordion, bandoneon, vocals; Rachel Durling, violin; John Schott, guitar, banjo; Richard Trevor, string bass.

Enjoy tableaux vivants of artists Berthe Morisot (Peggy Gyulai), Vincent van Gogh (Jeremy Sutton), Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec (Valentine), and Paul Gauguin (Marius Starkey).

Dr. Anne Prah-Perochon, historian and contributor to the journal France-Amérique, presents a lecture, “On Track to Impressionism: How Art Derailed the Orsay Station.”

About Friday Nights at the De Young
On Friday nights the entire museum is open until 8:45 p.m. Friday Nights at the de Young offers a variety of interdisciplinary arts programs, including live music, poetry, films, dance, tours, and lectures. The cafe is open with a special Friday Nights dinner menu, and a no-host cocktail bar is serving drinks. There are art making activities for everyone. All Friday Night programming is free unless otherwise noted.
