During this period most art that wasn’t sanctioned by the State was illegal, or at least unwelcome – mostly for questioning authority. Twenty years after the fall of the Berlin Wall, it was time to document this historical period. The exhibit made its debut in November 2009 in Prenzlauer Berg/Berlin, where the rebellion and uprising against the establishment had begun 30 years earlier: Many renowned artists of today emerged from this art scene: Thomas Florschütz, Ralf Kerbach and Cornelia Schleime, to name a few. To date, the exhibit has traveled to nine other destinations, from New York and Switzerland to Greece.
Opening Reception: February 8, 6:30pm
Exhibit runs from February 11- March 25 and is open Monday – Thursday: 10 am – 6 pm; Friday: 10 am – 4 pm
