Harold Improv Theater with the Godfather of Improv | SF Harold Improv Theater (HIT) is a San Francisco based improv company that is focused on cultivating a community of people who love improv. This community is inspired by the pulsating New York City improv scene that attracts smart comedic thinkers. Every month HIT will be performing “Harolds.”

What is a “Harold” you ask?

A Harold is a long-form type of improv that starts with a one word suggestion taken from the audience. This form of improv was developed by Del Close, the “Godfather’ of improv. Many great comedians studied under Del Close, including John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Tina Fey, and Chris Farley, to name a few. Many believe that this is the toughest yet potentially most rewarding form of improv.
