Event Details

The atmospheric river has bathed California in water, and mushrooms are popping up in throngs. You’re invited to join them for a dive into the woods for a basic introduction to these fabulous creatures – Who are they? What do they do? How can you recognize them? All this and more awaits you between the misty fern fronds.

Their mushroom guide will be Christian Schwarz, co-author of the forthcoming book Mushrooms of the Redwood Coast, a comprehensive book about California coastal mushrooms.

Please bring drinking water, snacks, and warm layers. Dress for wet weather. This walk will not include tasting or collecting of mushrooms.

Free but RSVP required. A sliding scale $10-20 suggested donation.
