2023 “Kings Mountain Art Fair” in the Redwoods (Sept 2-4)

In 2023, the Kings Mountain Art Fair will celebrate its 60th year under the canopy of the coastal redwood forest in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Every Labor Day weekend, a magical transformation occurs in the redwood forest just 30 miles south of San Francisco. Artist booths pop up around the Kings Mountain Fire Station and local beer and wine begin to flow.

This is not your average kitschy craft fair. It’s a fine art fair where you can talk to the artists, hang out in a gorgeous redwood forest and enjoy great food and fresh air.

The forest becomes an outdoor gallery displaying some of the finest handmade arts and crafts on the West Coast. All art is original and made by the artists who personally exhibit at the show.

The #1 fine art fair in Northern California, is a juried fair typically featuring over 120 independent artists and up to 16 local mountain artists in a redwood forest with an old fashioned children’s craft and game area.

Getting to the Fair

Free parking is located along Skyline Blvd. Hiking trails are available along Skyline Blvd between the Purisima Creek Open Space preserve on the north and Richards Road/County Road on the south. They will be well marked for your use. We urge you to park and walk to the fair.

Additionally, we will have free shuttles running about one mile in each direction of the fair, with shuttle stops marked by signs. Shuttles run from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. Please park to the right of the white line. We don’t want you to receive a parking ticket and spoil your weekend.

We do not have a parking lot, therefore no handicap parking is available. Disabled visitors may be dropped off at the front entrance and be seated while companions park the car.

If you Uber to the Fair, please make arrangements for an Uber pick-up, prior to your arrival.

Bicycle racks are available at the south entrance to the Fair or you can dismount and stroll with your bike.

Weather

At approximately 2,000 feet elevation in the Coastal Mountain Range, the weather at the Fair is unpredictable. We may have foggy, cool, perfect sweater weather. Or it may be quite warm, in which case sunscreen is advised.
