The SF Library’s Main Branch is showing Julie & Julia, the 2009 movie starring Meryl Streep and Amy Adams for free.

SYNOPSIS: Julie Powell is a frustrated insurance worker who wants to be a writer. Trying to find a challenge in her life, she decides to cook her way through Julia Child’s ‘Mastering the Art of French Cooking’ in one year, and to blog about it.

Movie critic website Rotten Tomatoes gave Julie & Julia a Guaranteed Fresh (74%) rating, adding: “Boosted by Meryl Streep’s charismatic performance as Julia Child, Julie and Julia is a light, but fairly entertaining culinary comedy.
