San Francisco Fleet Week 2023: Blue Angels + Schedule of Events

Look up in the sky when you hear the roaring of jet engines and head down to SF’s northern waterfront and for San Francisco’s annual Fleet Week airshow and festival which is back in 2023.

Although there is a full week of events, the epochal annual air show takes place October 6-8, 2023 when fans from across the Bay converge on hills, rooftops and all along the waterfront to behold the spectacular taking place over San Francisco Bay between Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz.

See the full air show schedule (not yet updated for 2023) – Please note the festival website says “October 2-10” but often there are hardly any events the first two days and the final day except for neighborhood concerts.

TENTATIVE 2023 Schedule of events

Wednesday, OCTOBER 4TH

• Ship Tours – 10am to 4pm – Pier 30/32 + Pier 35

Thursday, OCTOBER 5TH

• Ship Tours – 10am to 4pm – Pier 30/32 + Pier 35
• Air Show Practice – Typically in the afternoon you’ll hear the Blue Angels buzzing downtown doing practice runs
• Honor Our Fallen Concert – 6pm at Herbst Theater w/ U.S. Marine Corps 1st Marine Division Band – FREE but tix required

Friday, OCTOBER 6TH

• 2023 Air Show – Typically Noon to 4pm on the northern waterfront (Blue Angels usually 3-4p)
• Parade of Ships– 11a-Noon – watch the fleet enter the Bay under the Golden Gate Bridge
• Humanitarian Assistance Village – 10am on Marina Green
• STEM Center – 10am on Marina Green
• No Ship Tours on Friday

Saturday, OCTOBER 7TH

• 2023 Air Show – Typically Noon to 4pm on the northern waterfront (Blue Angels usually 3-4p)
• Humanitarian Assistance Village – 10am on Marina Green
• STEM Center – 10am on Marina Green
• K9 Heroes – 10am to 2pm at Duboce Park – Watch K9 demos including search and rescue and detection
• Ship Tours – 10am to 4pm – Pier 30/32 + Pier 35

Sunday, OCTOBER 8TH

• 2023 Air Show – Typically Noon to 4pm on the northern waterfront (Blue Angels usually 3-4p)
• Humanitarian Assistance Village – 10am on Marina Green
• STEM Center – 10am on Marina Green
• Ship Tours – 10am to 4pm – Pier 30/32 + Pier 35

• Ship Tours – 9am to 2pm – Pier 30/32 + Pier 35

San Francisco Fleet Week 2023: Blue Angels + Schedule of Events

Although it’s not the full airshow later in the week, typically the Blue Angels will do survey flights periodically during the time period of about 1-5 pm on Thursday.

So, although it’s not guaranteed, on Thursday you should be able to see (and hear) the Blue Angels buzzing the city and over the waterfront doing their annual Survey Flights of San Francisco.
