Macy’s Holiday Pet Adoption Windows Displays | Union Square
Macy's Union Square | 170 O'Farrell Street, San Francisco, CA 94102 No Comment
Macy’s in Union Square is unveiling their annual “Holiday Windows” with elaborately-decorated window displays featuring some adorable (and adoptable) cats and dogs to help benefit the SPCA and find these furry friends a new home. Beginning at 5pm on November 20th take part in a ceremony for the first viewing of these window displays which will run until January 3rd.
The windows are inspired by Macy’s nostalgic “Believe” campaign, based on the New York Sun’s famous “Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus” editorial from 1897. In keeping with the magical “Believe” theme, this years windows will follow letters from pets and children on their journey to Santa Claus at the North Pole. Special wishes for a loving companion tucked in winged envelopes swirl their way through the window as the pets prance and play below. Letters will arrive at Santa’s mailroom, where the jolly man himself will be checking his list to find out which dogs and cats have been naughty or nice. The whimsy and wonder of this bright holiday setting will be complimented by music exclusively composed for Macy’s.
Macy’s pet-friendly holiday windows – a holiday tradition in Union Square – inspired the adoption of nearly 300 animals and a record-breaking $75,000 in donations for the SF/SPCA from generous Macy’s customers and spectators last year. During the 21-year partnership with the SPCA, over 40,000 animals have been adopted. Macy’s and the SF/SPCA are proud to kick off the holiday season with a red curtain unveiling of the windows on Friday, November 20 at 5 p.m. and invite the community to come and be a part of this great San Francisco tradition.
