MissionPartysmall[1]Spend your evening n the Mission snacking, sipping and late-night shopping at3 0+ independent local stores as the Mission District hosts its 2nd annual Mission Holiday Block Party from 5-10pm on Friday, December 11, 2009.

Lots of the businesses along 16th Street and down Valencia will be offering live music, free drinks (don’t forget to Bring Your Own Mug for hot toddies), live art and sale prices throughout the evening.

Street Food Fridays: There will also be several SF Food Carts serving up their delicious bites inside the gallery of  Artists Xchange on 16th near Guererro:

2009 Mission Holiday Block Party Events:
Here are the confirmed events we know about…

  • 826 Valencia Pirate Supply Store: open until 9:00pm, everything in the store will be 15% off. Bargain basement deals on back issues of McSweeney’s Quarterly, The Believer, and 826 Books
  • BellJar: Drink a Fancy Cocktails or Champagne with the BellJar ladies while enjoying 15% off apparel
  • Room 4: vintage holiday tunes, sweet and savory snacks, festive beverages, and 20% off everything during the block party.
  • Miranda Caroligne: Free hot toddies, BYOmug! Plus, free hand-made arm warmers with every purchase of Miranda’s book, “Reconstructing Clothes for Dummies” - 485 14th Street @ Guerrero
  • Candystore Collective: Holiday window concerts. Uni and Her Ukele at 6pm, Steve Taylor at 7pm, and Fun Machine featuring Angelina Moysov of Persephone’s Bees at 8pm. NOPA bartender, Matty, will be serving pink drinks, brown drinks and beer, and opening night of Through a Forest Wilderness — Drawings by Jacqueline Schmidt.
