What is “Oakland Nights…Live“? Why it is Oakland’s very own low-budget monthly late night talk show.

It’s half Johnny Carson, half Pee-Wee’s Playhouse, all Oakland. We’ve had marine biologists, talks with Oakland public school teachers, Star Trek: TNG re-rnactments, call-in relationship advice, live interviews with astrophysicist from the South Pole, and more.

Filled with Oakland trivia, highlights on local small businesses, spotlights on amazing non-profits – it is a microscope that looks in on all the little wonders across the Oakland Bay Area.

>> Event can get very crowded: Please note this event is very popular and often fills up and has to turn people away. So either show up very early, or risk getting turned away at the door.

“Oakland Nights…Live” Late Night Talk Show | Oakland

Spring is coming and after four months of hibernation, Oakland Nights…Live is awake and ready to roar. They have a new location, a new night of the month and a newly reinvigorated joie de vivre.

The March 2013 theme is “The Human Body.” Like a phoenix, a butterfly, or other strange mythical beasts, it will be glorious and few will survive.

How to Get In (this is a little tricky):

The entrance on 22nd street. But address is 2141 Broadway. Go to 2141 Broadway and follow the signs. It will be tricky. It will be an adventure. But you will find the entrance.

This month you can expect:

Lips – Relationship advice with Smooch Talk

Skin – Dermatologist live on stage

Throat – Swallowing Exercises

Eyeballs – Dissected

Heart – Compulsory Karaoke

Feet – Are for dancing

and Hands – Are for clapping
