ABOUT “WHAT ARE THE ODDS” QUARTET
This quarter of locally-grown musicians met while taking a class led by the great Frank Martin at the Jazz School in Berkeley. We’ll be sharing some of the tunes from that class, which was all about playing “odd” times (5, 7, 11, etc.). Some of the tunes were originally written in an odd time signature, and some have been adapted by adding or dropping a beat.

We’ll also play some personal favorites and a few originals.

Come and tap your feet. Who says you can’t dance in 7-time?

WE ARE
Danny Bittker — Saxophone and Flute
Joyce Todd McBride —Voice and Piano
Ryan Blum—Bass
Vince Sendaydiego —Drums
