Original Famous Twang Sundays is a free, all-ages concert series at Thee Parkside in Potrero Hill.
Come by every Sunday; there’s always a fresh traditional or contemporary live act and a surprise special to purchase from the kitchen.
Original Famous Twang Sundays welcomes The Highway Poets and Ruben Diaz to Thee Parkside on Sunday, August 31, 2014.
Formed in the hills of small town Petaluma, The Highway Poets (previously known as Hillside Fire), began fusing their Rock/Funk/Blues-sound with folk instruments and soul inspired song crafting. The sound that they created was a fresh, creative, eclectic sound that can only be narrowed down in the music industry to Rock/Folk/Indie. In the past 5 years, they have recorded and released 3 full length albums out of their own homes (2 under Hillside Fire), toured throughout the Midwest and west-coast extensively, and have shared the stage with many nationally acclaimed acts.
Ruben Diaz is a veteran of the bay area folk scene. Having played for years with Thee Landlords and as a solo act, Ruben has honed his brand of traditional style folk and his finger picking and vocal chops raise him to the top. His debut full length will be released later this year.
