University Avenue (Palo Alto) | University Avenue and Webster Street, Palo Alto, CA
The Palo Alto Festival of the Arts is now celebrating its thirty-first year-takes place on tree-lined University Avenue in beautiful downtown Palo Alto on August 25-26, 2012.
The backbone of the festival and the key to its success are the three hundred fine artists and crafters whose display booths are placed back-to-back along University Avenue. This high quality, community-friendly event is sponsored by the Palo Alto Chamber of Commerce and the City of Palo Alto. In the past it has attracted over 150,000 people every year from throughout California and the West Coast.
2012 Festival Highlights
Always a crowd-pleaser, the Italian Street Painting Expo will again offer fifty chalk artists creating larger-than-life works of art all weekend long on Tasso Street. Children will enjoy the Kids’ Art Studio too.
Don’t forget to stroll through the Wild ‘n’ Whimsical Sculpture Garden at the corner of Cowper & University. This year’s artists, husband & wife team, Mindy Rodman & Paul White have created a spectacular display of work that you won’t be able to resist.
Then sample some of the gourmet food, fine wines or micro-brews and enjoy the street entertainment throughout or at one of the stages.
