Pillow Fight 2011 | San Francisco
>> Want to see our Top Picks for this week instead?
Feathers will fly at this fun, flash-mob type event which takes place each Valentine’s Day just as the Ferry Building clock tower strikes 6pm.
Nearly 1,000 San Franciscans descend on Justin Herman Plaza with feather-stuffed pillows to run Braveheart-like at full speed at one another to lovingly beat the crap out of each other until the whistle blows.
Tip: Bring a mask or something to cover your mouth - it’s easy to choke on flying feathers

Is this Pillow Fight really taking place for 2011?
A word of caution: We found Pillow Fight 2011 posted on Facebook by a volunteer who works at KALW. In her posting she used the same poster from last year’s Pillow Fight website which includes a URL for www.pillowfight.info that has actually been taken down.Other Concerns…
- The Facebook posting says 6pm to 9:30pm and who ever heard of a 3 1/2 hour friggin’ long pillow fight? my arms would fall off!
- The pillow fight isn’t listed on www.pillowfightday.com, a website that lists tons of pillow fights around the world. So we have no idea if this event is real or not, or if there will be any organizers or not – but who cares really?
If 1,000 people “think” there’s a pillow fight and all show up at Justin Herman Plaza at 6pm – then there’s gonna be a mother f’n pillow fight!
If you do show up, please please please bring one garbage bag and help pick up feathers afterward.
