SF City Guides: Neighborhood Walking Tours Month | October 2017

San Francisco City Guides offers dozens of free guided walking tours, all over the city, throughout the year.

But things get special during the months of May and October each year, when the San Francisco weather is particularly pleasant, City Guides add a slate of rare neighborhood explorations to its year round tour schedule.

Go off the beaten path and discover the colorful characters, beautiful vistas, and charming architectural treasures that can be found in communities like the Inner Richmond, Visitacion Valley, or Glen Park. Each San Francisco neighborhood has a distinct architecture, history, and personality that deserve in-depth exploration.

Special October 2017 Walking Tours
All tours are free, but donations accepted. First come, first served.

Complete schedule of tours for October 2017.

Disinterred remains, assassinations and other ghostly lore form the focus of this tour, plus little-known facts such as the cemetery that once covered Civic Center.

Instead of history and architecture, hear snippets from interviews with building employees that detail chilling paranormal activity. You will be amazed–and thrilled. Who – or what – might be walking behind you?

2017 Halloween Ghost Walk at City Hall
Thursday, October 26, 2017 | 6:30 pm
San Francisco City Hall (Polk St. entrance)
FREE, but donations are appreciated

This free spooky tour is only offered once a year. Meet in South Light Court, through the Polk St. entrance at 6:30 pm. Allow time for security checks. Travel lightly; full security, including bag searches, will be in effect.

About the Ghost Tour
City Hall guide Rob Spoor started doing the ghost tour after many years of hosting regular City Hall tours, and hearing time after time, spooked stories from the night watchmen, deputy sheriffs, and maintenance workers of City Hall. He decided to throw out all that boring architecture mumbo-jumbo, dim the lights, and tell stories of regular people experiencing scary things. – SF Appeal
