Roaring Camp | 1 Graham Hill Road, Felton, CA
Roaring Camp Railroads hosts old-timey Fourth of July activities in the Santa Cruz Mountains on July 4, 2015. In 2014, the event was from noon to 3 pm.; we expect it to be similar for 2015.
The historic railroad camp, which features two narrow-gauge railroads, will be hosting a fun-filled day of games, live music and an all-American barbecue. There will also be games for kids like a hula hoop contest.
As per their website, we think they will be hosting their Weekend Living History events as well:
Celebrate the history of Roaring Camp with the Town Marshal or visit with costumed characters from the Santa Cruz Mountains’ storied past that will be strolling the streets of the town.
On the weekends, candle making is $3 and gold panning is $1 to try your luck and $5 for guaranteed gold. You can also choose to dig in at the Chuckwagon BBQ, prices vary. Race your own handcar down the rails, $2, or pose in our authentic period costumes at their Old West Photo Studio. Individual Portrait $30, Couples $40, Groups +$5 per additional subject.
The festivities are free, but there is a parking fee and food is available for purchase. Certain activities have fees between $2-5. Train rides start at $27 for adults and $20 for children.
