Event Details

The Alliance Francaise is hosting a free movie night showing the 1982 French burlesque comic classic Le Pere Noel Est Une Ordure (Santa Claus is a Bastard).

Free showing but there is a suggested donation of $5 per person (includes complimentary glass of wine, or two!)

PLOT: Set during Christmas night, in a Parisian telephone station as volunteers are perturbed by the arrival of marginal characters and eccentrics who provoke a series of catastrophes. Pierre Mortez and Thérèse receive visits from their neighbour M. Preskovic who presents them with revolting gastronomic specialities from his country, from depressed transvestite Katia, from Thérèse’s slow-thinking cousin Josette and her seedy fiancé Felix who is dressed as Santa Claus.

The classic comedic French cast includes Thierry Lhermitte who played Paul Rudd’s character in the French original of The Dinner For Schmucks, which this movie is similar to. Rotten Tomatoes gave this movie a 92% approval rating.
