Actual Cafe is screening a documentary film about the life of pianist and jazz great Thelonious Monk.

Film features live performances by Monk and his band, and interviews with friends and family about the offbeat genius.

This is a must-see for anyone who appreciates jazz, or is fascinated by offbeat geniuses. Monk is crazy, and his life was a mess, but he’s even more mesmerizing to watch than to listen to.
