Come Out and Play Festival 2012 | SF

Come Out & Play 2012 is a free annual festival of public street games (and a few indoor ones) that turns San Francisco into a giant playground for adults.

Venue Update: The events are Rain or Shine, but outdoor events scheduled for originally scheduled for Victoria Manalo Draves Park will now be played at SOMArts or at Gene Friend Recreation Center (270 6th St. near Folsom).

Think urban spy games, giant capture the flag games, as well as brand new creations like hula hoop tag, origami fishing, pinkball and tons more.

There’s also a month-long indoor games exhibition in SOMArts Cultural Center’s Main Gallery, November 17–December 19, 2012.

If you still haven’t come out to play at SOMArts’ 2012 Come Out and Play exhibition, here is your last chance to check out the exhibit and play games. The gallery is free and open to the public Tuesdays through Fridays, noon to 7pm through December 19, 2012.

Our favorite game is “The Heast Collection” a fun spy game where you try to steal a painting while you navigate through a laser maze.
