Oakland Youth Orchestra Free Performances

The vibrant and award-winning Oakland Youth Orchestra (OYO) consists of 75 talented music students aged 12 to 22 from throughout the region.

The concerts listed below are free and open to the public.

The Oakland Symphony Youth Orchestra, under the baton of new Principal Conductor Omid Zoufonoun, continues its 2014-2015 season with a performance Sunday, February 8, 2015, at 2 pm at the San Leandro High School Performing Arts Center.

Highlighting the program will be Youth Orchestra Concerto Competition winner Jonathan Chen performing Wieniawski’s Violin Concerto No.2 in D minor, Op.22.

The Youth Orchestra will also perform Bernstein’s Candide Overture, Marquez’ Danzon No. 2, Schubert’s Symphony No.8 in B minor “Unfinished” and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Russian Easter Overture, Op.36. Admission is free
