Yo-Yo Trick Day & Free BBQ | Dolores Park
Join the 16th Annual Bay Area Classic Yo-Yo Contest in Golden Gate Park to enjoy the sun, learn to yo-yo, and be witness to some of the world’s best players as they compete in the yo-yo championship in Spreckels Temple of Music Bandshell on May 25, 2013.
Over 100 of the top yo-yo competitors in the West Cost will gather in the park to test their skill, swap tricks, pick up the latest gear, and compete for more than $3,000 in cash and prizes.
On Sunday, May 26, 2013, the yo-yo players hold an annual post-competition Sunday Funday with free food and trick swapping.
Want to try your hand at some yo-yo tricks?
The yo-yo vendors and experts at the Bay Area Classic are usually willing to give you free yo-yo lessons and teach you a few tricks, if you just ask. Bring your own yo-yo if you got it, but there’s usually a few loaners about and there’s also some cheap beginner yo-yo kits for sale.
Kick it in Dolores Park in San Francisco at 1 pm on Sunday, May 26, 2013 for a free BBQ of burgers and hot dogs, music and a chance for you to watch, meet and learn from some of the Bay Area’s top yo-yo tricksters.
This is an informal event in the park, so there’s no competition, but when you put a bunch of yo-yo experts together in the park, you’re bound to see trick swapping.
BYOB and BYOYOYO - though there are usually some loaners to spare, if you want to give some tricks a try.
*Food is while supplies last and may be limited to yo-yo participants.
