Calling all college and grad students: Thursday is the new Friday, so take the night off and treat yourself to an evening of art, drinks, and fun at the museum! For this special event, tickets to Murakami: Monsterized (including access to the collection galleries and the East West Bank Art Terrace) are only $10 with your valid undergraduate or graduate student ID.
Use the code STUDENT10 at check out and present your student ID when you arrive at the museum.
See the spectacular first solo show in the Bay Area by Japanese superstar artist Takashi Murakami, whose colorful collaborations with brands like Louis Vuitton and musicians including Billie Eilish and Pharrell Williams have made him a hugely influential and iconic figure in pop culture. In what may currently be the city’s most epic selfie opportunity, this exhibition includes a room completely wallpapered from floor to ceiling in the artist’s trademark smiling flowers; search #MurakamiMonsterized for a preview.
Cocktails and boba tea will be available for purchase on our newly opened rooftop art terrace and Asian Box will be open to satisfy cravings with Chef Grace Nguyen’s freshly made, locally sourced creations. Don’t miss this chance to reward yourself for your diligent studies (or flex your impressive powers of procrastination — we don’t judge!) by enjoying Murakami: Monsterized and everything else the museum has to offer at a special discount.
