100 Foot Tall Film Night | The Great Wall of Oakland

For special events, and on select first Fridays during Oakland Art Murmur, the Great Wall of Oakland, a 100 ′x 100′ projection installation, illuminates the Uptown District with cutting-edge motion art from around the world.

The Great Wall of Oakland is located at the corner of Broadway and West Grand Avenue in downtown Oakland.

On November 7, 2014, Oakland East Bay Symphony will present its opening night concert at Oakland’s historic Paramount Theater.

During Art Murmur, they’ll be broadcasting their performance live on “The Great Wall of Oakland,” a 100 foot tall side of a building at the corner of Broadway and West Grand.

The program will feature Tchaikovsky’s iconic 5th Symphony and the West Coast premiere of a piece composed by Chris Brubeck (son of the late jazz pianist Dave Brubeck) and Guillaume Saint-James, commemorating their fathers and the fateful events of D-Day. The work, Brothers in Arts, will feature the two composers as part of a jazz quintet with the orchestra.
