Book release party with shark attack survivor Jonathan Kathrein and co-author Margaret Kathrein — Far From Shore: A Mother’s Memoir of a Shark Attack by Margaret and Jonathan Kathrein. WipeOut Bar & Grill – Pier 39. Thursday, January 21st from 6:30PM – 9PM. Food and bee will be served.
The book is a story of courage and survival, a tribute to the spirit of love and importance of family, a story of mothers and sons and the precious bond that sustains families through the most challenging of times. Both authors will be on hand to sign copies of the book.
On August 26, 1998, Jonathan, age 16, survived a great white shark attack at Stinson Beach, CA. Jonathan, who almost died from his wounds and received over 400 stitches, appeared on Dateline NBC, Discovery Channel, National Geographic Channel, and on numerous radio talk shows, films and national magazines. Jonathan and Margaret have just published their new book, Far From Shore the story of how Jonathan’s mother, Margaret, dealt with her (any parent’s) worst nightmare becoming a reality.
