SF’s Yerba Buena Gardens Festival 2026
The 2026 Yerba Buena Gardens Festival hosts a full lineup of free outdoor music, theater, circus, dance, poetry, and children’s programs. The Festival opens on Saturday, May 9, 2026 with Hermán Olivera y Orquesta Taíno to kick off its 26th season. The Festival features over 100 free performances from May to November in Downtown San Francisco.
One of the most exciting and dynamic ensembles on the Bay Area’s thriving but underground big band scene is the Electric Squeezebox Orchestra, a based at Doc’s Lab in NorthBeach. Bristling with talent, the ESO focuses on original compositions and arrangements by band members, including trumpeters Henry Hung and Darren Johnston, trombonists Rob Ewing and Danny Lubin-Laden, and saxophonists Sheldon Brown, Kasey Knudsen and Mike Zilber.
Leading the ensemble is the quietly brilliant Berkeley-reared trumpeter Erik Jekabson, who gained invaluable experience in New York and New Orleans before returning to the East Bay.
