The Buddhist Church of Oakland (BCO) invites you to their 2015 Nikkoland Festival, to be held at the Church at 825 Jackson Street (at 9th) in Oakland, Saturday-Sunday, June 20-21.
In the tradition of the Japanese-American Bazaars, this festival features Teriyaki Steak, Teriyaki Chicken, Teriyaki Short Ribs, Sushi and Udon (thick wheat flour noodles in hot flavored broth), along with specialty, Imagawa-yaki (hot pastry confection filled with sweet red bean paste). American favorites such as Hot Dogs, Hamburgers, Japanese and American beer and soft drinks will also be available.
BCO is famous for their fun gaming area, featuring Children’s games and Bingo. There is also an expanded Silent Auction and Grand Raffle for cash and other prizes (drawing held Sun 6/21 at 7pm).
Tours of this Historical Oakland Landmark led by Resident Minister Rev. Harry Gyokyo Bridge will be held Saturday at 5:30pm, and Sunday at 4:00pm.
Festival Hours for Saturday are 3:00-8:00pm, and Sunday 12Noon-7pm. Free secured parking is available on Jackson Street, between 5th and 6th Streets (under the 880 freeway), and the Church is located one block from the Lake Merritt BART station.
