2019 Civic Center Commons Block Party | SF

The popular 1st Sundays Block Party returns for the 2019 season. This free family-friendly event features games and activities for all ages – don’t miss the petting zoo, recreational activities, selection of street food offerings curated by Off the Grid, music with San Francisco KMVQ 99.7 NOW, a craft market with one-of-a-kind goods created by over 20 local SF Etsy artisans and DIY pumpkin decorating.

And come out to the official launch celebration for SF COUNTS, and learn how you, your family and our city can get counted in the 2020 Census.

Activity Lineup for October 6th:

• Mobile animal petting zoo with Little Explorers;
• Pop-Up volleyball, badminton and handball stations, sporting merchandise and more recreational activities with Decathlon
• DIY pumpkin decorating with SF Etsy
• LEGO-Build Station with Play-Well TEKnologies and Twitter
• A dance fitness class with Alonzo King LINES Dance Center at 2pm
• An interactive pop-up with San Francisco Ballet – try on a tutu, learn about pointe shoes, practice your first position and join a dance class at noon
• SF COUNTS launch event at 12:30 pm
• Screen printing demonstrations with Sanctuary Print Shop
• A book sale with the Friends of the San Francisco Public Library
• An interactive art installation where participants will explore how to become heroes in their own lives at the Village Artist Corner
• A coloring station featuring illustrations from local artists
• Free Jenga, hula hoops and more games courtesy of the Downtown Streets Team Tuk Tuk
• A chance to play with friends and family in a game of giant scrabble, brought to you by 826 Valencia

Join us on the 1st Sunday of the month from 11am to 3pm for a block party on Fulton Street at Larkin. The next event is October 7th

This FREE family-friendly event features recreational activities for all ages, a selection of street food curated by Off the Grid, music and promotional appearances by Bonneville San Francisco KMVQ 99.7 FM, an open-air bazaar with one-of-a-kind goods created by local SF Etsy artisans, DIY arts and crafts activities and more.

For the next Block Party on October 7th we’re excited to offer:

• FREE roller-skating with Church of 8 Wheels (skates and equipment provided)
• Mini pumpkin decorating for the first 300 people
• DIY crochet & knitting circle and get a selfie with a huge, huggable anatomical heart pillow by SF Etsy
• Interactive public space design activities by the Urban Jungle of Possibilities at the Village Artist Corner
• Body movement activities with Alonzo King LINES Dance Center
• A book sale booth by the Friends of the SF Public Library
• A chance to play your friends in family in a game of giant scrabble, brought to you by 826 Valencia; plus
• Free games, a lego station brought to you by the Department of Children, Youth and Their Families, and more!
