This year’s Bay Area Book Festival, a nine-day literary showcase running through Sunday May 9, channels the power of literature to lift our imaginations and spirits after an unprecedented year. See bestselling climate fiction “prophet” Jeff VanderMeer; renowned psychotherapist Dr. Irvin Yalom in conversation with National Humanities Medalist Joyce Carol Oates; 2020 Booker Prize winner Douglas Stuart; 2020 National Book Award winner Charles Yu; Pulitzer winner and past U.S. Poet Laureate Tracy K. Smith; and many more. Enjoy hip hop historians Jeff Chang and Dave “Davey D” Cook, Newbery Medalist Meg Medina, and master chef Kwame Onwuachi with his new cookbook/memoir for teens. The Fest is entirely online, making it easy to interact with these most exciting authors of our time from your home! All youth events are free.
